Custom mobile command center enhances coordination, interoperability and real-time decision-making capabilities.
APPLETON, Wis. (April 16, 2026) – Frontline Communications, a division of Pierce Manufacturing, Inc., an Oshkosh Corporation (NYSE:OSK) business, has delivered a custom C-45X-4 mobile command vehicle to Louisville-Jefferson County Emergency Management. This next generation command vehicle, delivered through Frontline Communications and Pierce Manufacturing dealer Atlantic Emergency Solutions, will be prominently displayed at the Fire Department Instructors Conference (FDIC) 2026 in Indianapolis, Indiana, in Pierce Manufacturing’s booth #5337.
The project marks Frontline Communications’ first collaboration with Louisville, following a competitive evaluation process in which the customer selected Frontline Communications based on its experience and product quality in the specialty vehicle market.
“Our new mobile emergency operations center gives us a place to bring people together when we’re managing something big—whether that’s a scheduled event or an emergency,” said Jody Meiman, Louisville-Jefferson County Emergency Management Executive Director. “Instead of everyone trying to coordinate from different spots, we can get in one room and get on the same page.”
The mobile command unit is built on an International HV607 chassis and powered by a Cummins L9 450 HP engine. Other major features include:
The configuration provides Louisville with a fully integrated command environment capable of supporting multi-agency operations, emergency coordination and advanced communications in both planned and unplanned scenarios.
“Louisville will house and maintain the vehicle so it’s always ready, but the real value comes from how often we train with it,” Meiman added. “By using it regularly in exercises and drills, our teams build the muscle memory and confidence they need—so when a real incident happens, the unit feels familiar, our roles are clear and we can get to work immediately.”
Throughout the process, the Louisville team worked in close collaboration with Frontline Communications and Atlantic Emergency Solutions.
“Specialty resources like this are built to perform when incidents are at their most complex and demanding,” said Adrian Doleman, Regional Account Manager representative with Frontline Communications and Atlantic Emergency Solutions. “We’re proud to support the Louisville team.”
