Project Overview:

The Marion County Sheriff’s Office selected Frontline Communications to build their state-of-the-art Mobile Command Unit. The MCU is based on a Pierce Impel® custom chassis and is tailored to the needs of the Marion County Emergency Operations team. This unit provides the ability to establish a remote command base for inter-agency communications and dispatch, with features for teleconferencing, video surveillance and much more. Our special thanks to Sheriff Billy Woods, Emergency Operations Director Preston Bowlin, and the entire MCSO team for their work and creativity on this project.


AvL 1.2m VSAT antenna, TracVision RV1 Satellite TV, PA system, Extron video router, Six perimeter cameras with NVR, MeetUp HD video and audio conferencing, AppleTV 4K with 4x1 HDMI quad multi-viewer, 70" 4K QLED Smart TV, Silent Sentinel Oculus EVO2 HD and thermal camera, 5G FirstNet-ready cellular router, IP Access VOIP Cisco phone system, Cradlepoint router, ICOM amateur radio with antenna tuner, ICOM aircraft band radio, Dual band public safety eBDA repeater, Iridium satellite phone, and installation of customer-supplied Setcom Dispatch system with four workstations.
