Montgomery County Department of Public Safety has received a new Frontline Communications Mobile Command vehicle. Montgomery County’s new C-44X-4 CC mobile command vehicle will enhance emergency response with advanced operations and communications features.

APPLETON, Wis. (May 2, 2024)Frontline Communications, a division of Pierce Manufacturing, Inc., and a subsidiary of Oshkosh Corporation (NYSE:OSK), announced the delivery of a C-44X-4 CC mobile command vehicle to the Montgomery County Department of Public Safety in Pennsylvania. Sold through Frontline Communications dealer Glick Fire Equipment Co., the highly customized and advanced mobile command vehicle is an essential resource for the county’s 89 fire companies, 18 emergency medical service (EMS) squads, and 50 police departments serving a broad community of over 500 square miles. 

"Selecting Frontline Communications for this project was an obvious choice given their track record for high-quality builds and our strong dealer relationship with Glick Fire Equipment,” Kevin Rairdon, Assistant Director of Emergency Communications Operations at the department, said. “Their expertise allowed us to tailor a vehicle which mirrors the capabilities of our Emergency Operations Center and is crucial for the wide array of incidents we manage.”

Now in service, “Field Comm 1” is a custom-built vehicle based on a Pierce Velocity® chassis, equipped with a PACCAR MX-13 engine, TAK-4® Independent Suspension and frontal impact and side roll protection.

The vehicle supports the county’s extensive emergency services, providing critical command and control capabilities at any location, under any conditions.
